About Me

Built from real-world operations, not theory

I align technology, product, and operations to help organizations turn strategy into practical execution, measurable outcomes, and sustained value.

Who I Am

Across multiple industries, I have led teams to design and implement systems that drive adoption, improve performance, and unlock lasting value.

In 2022, my family and I relocated from New Zealand to the United States, where I was granted permanent residency in recognition of my contributions to business technology and innovation.

Beyond Traditional Technology Leadership

I am a technology, product, and operational leader focused on turning strategy into measurable business outcomes. My experience spans enterprise technology leadership, SaaS and AI product development, operational transformation, and business growth across New Zealand, Australia, and the United States.

What differentiates my approach is not only technical or strategic experience, but the operational environments that shaped how I think about leadership, execution, and value creation. From motorsport and family businesses to manufacturing, retail, and large-scale operational transformation, I learned early that outcomes are determined by how people are led, how clearly direction is communicated, and how effectively technology, product, and operations work together.

Today, I help organizations align these areas to improve execution, empower teams, enhance customer and user experience, and deliver practical, measurable results.

What Shaped My Approach

My approach to technology, product, and operations was not formed in a boardroom or an office. It was shaped through early exposure to real-world environments where performance, teamwork, and execution under pressure were critical. Through motorsport, family businesses, and operational leadership in manufacturing environments, I learned that outcomes are determined by how people are led, how decisions are made, and what actions are taken. This was further influenced by New Zealand’s practical and innovative business culture, including early exposure to its startup ecosystem, where speed, adaptability, and real-world results matter.

01

Motorsports - A Valuable Training Ground

I grew up in and around motorsport. From age eight, I was invloved as a crew member, before helping organize and run events. I later became a rally navigator, a critical in-car role responsible for timekeeping and the high-pressure task of reading out descriptions of the road ahead while racing through stages. This enabled the driver to set the car's speed and position to maximise performance through every corner. Even the slightest delay or error in these instructions could result in leaving the road at high speed.

What this taught me:

  • Practical problem solving
  • How to troubleshoot issues
  • Complex solutioning
  • How to work wnder strict time and resource constraints
(and in less than idea working environments)
  • To stay calm under pressure
  • The importance of clear communication
  • The importance of working within a strong, well-coordinated team

02

Family Business Foundations – Early Exposure

I grew up actively involved in helping my family establish and grow multiple businesses, spanning retail, hospitality, property, and tourism.

What this taught me:

  • The importance of customer experience
  • The complexity of operations
  • The drivers of revenue & growth
  • The critical role that well-coordinated execution plays in delivering results

03

Manufacturing & International Reach

I played a key role in helping this two-person, New Zealand-based business evolve into the southern hemisphere’s largest engraved masonry provider, exporting products across New Zealand, Australia, the South Pacific, Asia, and South Africa, and helping hundreds of clubs, charities, schools, and organisations collectively raise hundreds of millions of dollars.

This involved identifying opportunities to extend the product range, designing and implementing significant process improvements, forming strategic partnerships, and relocating operations internationally to support scale.

What this taught me:

  • How to identify and act on growth opportunities
  • How to scale products and operations
  • How to extend a core product into new markets
  • The value of strategic partnerships
  • How commercial outcomes are created through product thinking, operational discipline, and deliberate execution

Scaling Business

I applied these principles alongside my wife, growing Rolleston Haircuts from a small barber shop into one of New Zealand’s largest unisex haircutting studios.

We also involved our children, giving them early exposure to real-world responsibility and operations..

What this reinforced:

  • Sustained growth comes from operational discipline
  • The value of an unwavering commitment to customer experience
  • Technology can support operations, ensure consistency, and enhance the overall experience in even the most unlikely environments

Leadership Philosophy / Principles

My work is guided by principles developed from decades of hands-on experience:

  • Service is not transactional:   It’s about how the customer or end-user feels after the experience.
  • Data drives action:   Value only exists when data leads to decisions, action, or changes in behavior.
  • Technology enables outcomes:   Systems exist to help people achieve goals more effectively, efficiently, and safely.
  • Empowered teams perform better:   Clear direction, the right resources, and an understanding of value create confident, high-performing teams.
  • Execution matters:   Strategy is only as strong as the practical steps taken to deliver it.
  • Education + Communication = Success:   Education and communication are two of the most powerful tools in any technology toolbox.

I combine strategic insight and leadership with hands-on operational experience to help organizations align technology, product, and operations, empowering high-performing teams, enhancing customer and user experience, and delivering measurable outcomes.

Today, I continue to apply these experiences and principles to help organizations navigate growth, complexity, and transformation. By aligning technology, product, and operations around clear outcomes, I focus on improving execution, empowering teams, enhancing customer and user experience, and delivering practical, measurable business value.
